Prostheses

At Studio Mura, we encourage an informed choice and want to give all our patients various options. Those who do not feel ready for minimally-invasive implant surgery can opt for fixed or removable prostheses.

Fixed or removable prostheses replace lost teeth. After a visit with the specialist, and following a diagnosis, we prepare work plans that allow our patients to choose between a removable or a fixed prosthesis. We then assess the solutions that best suit the needs of each patient.

FAQ

  • This involves a partial or total restoration of teeth that have been damaged by cavities or accidents.

    They are used to aesthetically and functionally restore partial or total damage or gaps in the dentition.

  • Dr. Mura has over 40 years of experience in total removable prostheses of the highestquality
    materials, which are very comfortable for the patient.

    They are made in the dental lab, adjacent to the Studio Mura dental clinic, by an experienced
    technician under Dr. Mura’s guidance. The result of the prostheses is guaranteed by the use
    of the most sophisticated technologies and the selection of the highest-quality materials.

    To create an individual total prosthesis, the technician attaches the models made from the
    edentulous patient's impressions to the occlusion simulator (articulator) and prepares the
    prosthesis for phonetic-functional tests.

    These initial phonetic-functional tests, which the dentist conducts on the patient, are
    preliminary tests that define the shape and functional position of the teeth. The color that best
    suits the patient is also selected.
    In the sessions that follow, Dr. Mura and the patient assess the shape and position of the
    teeth chosen during the tests and verify that the position of the front teeth gives proper
    support to the lips, creating facial harmony.

    To increase the patient's comfort, we apply a special layer of soft resin on the prosthesis, so
    that it does not cause discomfort when in contact with the gums.

  • They are prosthetic restorations that encapsulate both natural teeth and implants.

  • Dental crowns are needed to:

    • rebuild natural teeth that have been compromised by deep decay, which has reduced their
      integrity and function;
    • protect devitalized teeth, since they are fragile;
    • replace missing teeth supported by implants;
